District Winery Wedding | Sofia & Kurt

What an incredible day Sofia and Kurt’s District Winery Wedding was. We arrived into DC under a grey rainy sky, but ended the night with some of the best Latin dancing we have ever seen…weddings are always surprises! Sofia and Kurt are warm, loving, and such caring people that we instantly felt like one of the family when we arrived. Washington DC is such an incredible place to have a wedding. Even if there is a crowd, or a protest, or you take your first look photos in a national museum people are more friendly than you might expect. We always tend to think of cities as places where people don’t care or that it can be difficult for this or that reason, but in reality people just almost always get excited about weddings. I don’t think we will ever know what it is that makes people drop the normal curtness of city life, but when it happens it is magic to behold.

We love a District Winery wedding. The ceremony space looks out over the Potomac River, and so much of DC is accessible by cab or Uber for photos. Sofia and Kurt did their first look in the National Gallery of Art, and to not be harassed by security or other people was simply an incredible feeling. The love that these two shared just overflowed through the entire space, and when it stopped raining we got some of the coolest shots just out front of the museum. It was such a magical and special day that we will never forget it.
