“Soul Mates: I don’t know how you are so familiar to me—or why it feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you before—in another time, a different place, some other existence.” - Lang Leav
Soul mates are two people who can convey a message, emotions, and how they feel in a look, a touch, a hug, and a kiss. Soul mates are two people who are unique and amazing alone but stronger together. Soul mates are like finding that missing puzzle piece that maybe you didn't realize was missing but now that you've found it you can never live without it.
We had the amazing opportunity to meet Julia and Kyle on a warm (we use warm loosely here) day in February for their Washington DC engagement session. We knew that we loved these two from the first time we Skyped with them, but meeting up for drinks, before capturing their love, was less like meeting a couple face to face for the first time, and more like spending time with new friends. The conversations just rolled off of our tongues, from the most mundane to the strange, we covered a lot of ground. We literally could have talked to these two all day, but we were so excited to capture the love that these two share.
We walked around downtown Washington DC talking, laughing, and shivering a little, but capturing these two soul mates and the love they share in spots where their love grew. Getting to know Julia and Kyle, having them let us in, trusting us with the most intimate part of who they are as a couple was a true joy. From the small glances to the passionate kisses and everything in-between the love just radiated from these two. It was truly such an honor to capture this step in their journey together and then to have the opportunity this summer to be there to celebrate their love in a whole new way, as husband and wife.
